Rodgers hoping to be 100 percent after bye
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is hoping to return from the team's bye week close to 100 percent healthy, but he's not convinced that the week off will be enough to fully heal his throwing shoulder.

Rodgers dislocated his right shoulder at Tampa Bay on Sept. 28. The team doesn't play again until Nov. 1 at Tennessee.

"I've been looking forward to (the bye) since I hurt myself in Tampa," Rodgers said. "I'm not sure how it's going to respond - hopefully positively. It could clear up in the next couple weeks, it could be something I deal with all season. We're just not quite sure yet."

Rodgers enters the off week having completed 65.6 percent of his passes for 1,668 yards with 12 touchdowns and only four interceptions, for a 98.8 passer rating. He's also accomplished most of his primary preseason goals: limiting turnovers, making good decisions and completing passes at a high percentage.

"For the most part, I'm doing those things pretty well," Rodgers said. "I think I put together five pretty good performances out of seven games. I'd really like to have nine out of the last nine be performances where I make good decisions, am smart with the football, limit my turnovers. Hopefully that'll equate to a lot of wins."

Rodgers isn't the only player on the mend.

Second-year wide receiver James Jones has just five receptions through seven games after a promising 46-catch rookie season, mainly because of a nagging knee injury he originally sustained in an Aug. 22 in a preseason game at Denver.

The bye week may help him more than anyone else on the roster.

"It's good to get an extra week off. Hopefully I'll be back at the end of this week 100 percent," said Jones, who has played in just three games. "It's definitely frustrating to come back and keep on re-injuring it. I can't lie about that. But it's something I've got to learn from. Hopefully it never happens again and hopefully I get back to 100 percent and get back to myself and make some plays."
