PACKERS McCarthy's staff finally complete Pair of moves complete revamp
Green Bay - Mike McCarthy's revamped coaching staff for 2009 is complete, according to a source, after two moves were recently made.

Mike Trgovac, the former defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers, will be the lone defensive line coach, it was determined. And Scott McCurley was promoted to the defensive quality control position.

McCurley, 28, spent the past two seasons as the coaching administrator after being the coaching administrative intern in '06.

In all, there were 11 changes to the coaching staff, with seven new coaches being added to the staff from the outside. The new additions are: Dom Capers (defensive coordinator), Dave Redding (strength and conditioning coordinator) Kevin Greene (outside linebackers), Darren Perry (safeties), Trgovac, Curtis Fuller (assistant strength and conditioning) and John Rushing (offensive quality control).

Two were promoted from within in addition to McCurley. Shawn Slocum is the special teams coordinator after being an assistant to Mike Stock, who retired. Joe Whitt Jr. went from defensive quality control to cornerbacks. Winston Moss, who went from assistant head coach/linebackers to assistant head coach/inside linebackers, has seen his duties altered.

Two new positions were created - inside and outside linebackers coaches for Capers' 3-4 scheme - and two were combined into one (defensive ends and tackles to defensive line).

The last time the Packers had one defensive line coach was in 2004, when Jethro Franklin was in his last season after joining the staff in '00.

All Packers assistant coaches new to their positions will be made available to reporters for the first time at 11:30 a.m. today.
