--Quarterback Aaron Rodgers acknowledged Wednesday that having surgery on his right (throwing) shoulder is a possibility in the impending offseason.
"We'll take a look at that after the season, probably," Rodgers said.
The 5-10 Packers' disappointing season ends Sunday, when they host the winless Detroit Lions.
Rodgers suffered a severely sprained shoulder in the Sept. 28 loss at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but exhibited toughness in his first year as a pro starter by not missing a game this season.
Rodgers said the team's medical staff would conduct a series of tests on the shoulder before determining whether a procedure would be needed.
Receiver James Jones also might need offseason surgery on his right knee. After suffering a sprained PCL in the knee late in the preseason, Jones aggravated the injury in a few games and hasn't been too effective as the team's No. 3 wideout.
--The Packers' final week of the season is less than ideal. They're already on a shortened week after playing Monday night at the Chicago Bears, and then Christmas Eve and Christmas Day fell in the middle of the week.
Whereas head coach Mike McCarthy in the past has moved back practice on Wednesday to the late afternoon following a Monday game, he had the team go through a typical late-morning workout to commence on-field preparations for the season finale.
Thursday's practice was pushed back to the afternoon, allowing the players, coaches and support staff to have the morning for personal obligations on Christmas Day.
--The Packers have gone more than the equivalent of a full regular season without losing a game to the division-rival Lions in games played in Wisconsin.
Counting an NFC wild-card playoff meeting (a 16-12 outcome) in the 1994 season, Green Bay has won 17 straight home games. The streak started with three games at Milwaukee County Stadium, and the last 14 conquests by the Packers occurred at Lambeau Field, site of Sunday's matchup.
Detroit's last road win against the Packers was 21-17 on Dec. 15, 1991, at Lambeau.
Green Bay's 16-game winning streak against the Lions in regular-season play ranks second among active home winning streaks against one opponent. Washington has won 18 in a row over Detroit in the nation's capital.
--The Packers also will be trying to keep another winning streak intact Sunday. They have closed the regular season with a victory the last five years, including 34-13 over the Lions in 2007 at Green Bay.
Green Bay has won 13 of its last 14 regular-season finales. The only blemish, 42-17 at the New York Jets in 2002, cost the Packers the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs.
--Packers wideout Donald Driver, who has only one 100-yard receiving game this season, needs 99 receiving yards Sunday to extend his club record of four straight years with 1,000 yards.
Driver comes into the game tied with James Lofton and Sterling Sharpe for the team record with five 1,000-yard receiving seasons.
BY THE NUMBERS: 3 -- Seasons since 1993 that the Packers haven't played a game past December. Like this season, which will end with Sunday's regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions, Green Bay was done playing by New Year's Eve without a playoff berth in 2000 and '06.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We need to get the (winning) feeling back. We've got one more game to get this feeling back and get ourselves back. I still believe firmly that we are winners in this locker room, and we've got to get the feeling back." -- Defensive end Aaron Kampman on the Packers' urgency to end the season Sunday with a victory against the Detroit Lions with Green Bay in the throes of a five-game losing streak and having a 5-10 record.
