Green Bay Packers assistant coaches. For more, go to blogs.jsonline.com
Kevin Greene, outside linebackers
On whether the outside linebackers will have to do what he did as a player: "Absolutely. I mean, the outside backers in the 3-4 have to do the exact three basic scenarios. They have to rush like big defensive ends against big offensive tackles, which are 6-6 and 330 and so forth. Obviously they get picked up by a running back every once in a while but it's a rare occasion when a running back will try to block an outside backer in the 3-4. An outside backer in the 3-4 has to play the run hard at the point of attack, and there's so many different blocking schemes that offenses are trying to get on the perimeter. And an outside backer has to be able to cover. He's got to be able to drop into curl flats, buzz flats, fire flats, all kinds of things like that. So he's got to be able to do that and I'm excited."
Dave Redding, strength and conditioning coordinator
On the line between athleticism and bulk strength: "I've had guys that could bench press the world and can't make our team. I've had guys that can't bench press their sister and they're all-pro every year. This is a conditioning program for Football. It's not how much they can bench press."
Mike Trgovac, defensive line
On going from defensive coordinator to a line coach: "I just wanted to get a fresh start. This was a perfect opportunity for me to get with Mike (McCarthy), who I respect a lot, and I've always wanted to work with Dom (Capers). When you work for a defensive head coach it's a little bit harder than an offensive head coach. My wife said, 'You haven't seemed happy the last year.' It just made me realize that my kids are growing up and maybe I was taking my work home with and that's why I just wanted to take a step back and coach a position again."
