With the circus surrounding the Packers right now, one can’t help but think things could have been done better and could be done better moving forward. As a Bears fan, I obviously wouldn’t mind a ton of negativity bogging down camp up in Wisconsin … but I’m separating that fact here just for a little “If I was running the Packers.”
The entire camp is a distraction and only one thing can be done to rid the team of distraction before the start of the season.
Trade Aaron Rodgers. Why? There are a ton of reasons, but here are the best five:
1. It gives Brett Favre this season and possibly even next as the incumbent and unquestioned starter should he decide to continue playing even longer.
2. You avoid the PR disaster that trading Favre would create after all the fan-fare he’s received the past few days in Green Bay since arriving via chartered jet. Seriously, how can they even think about trading Favre with the way the fan-base has reacted to him? That would send the most chilling “we don’t give a crap about you” we’ve ever seen from ownership to the fans. This move along with the signing of Ryan Grant would give the team about a month to get away from all the sideshows and concentrate on football.Continue Reading
