If the Green Bay Packers don’t want their training camp to resemble a three-ring circus, they have 24 hours to reach some type of agreement with Brett Favre. Otherwise, Favre will show up tomorrow, and the NFL says the Packers have to welcome him.
The following e-mail was sent from the league office to all 32 teams today:
“This is to inform you that our office will announce today that Commissioner Goodell will reinstate Brett Favre to the Green Bay Packers’ active roster, effective at noon on Monday, August 4.”
Favre is heading to Green Bay today, and once he’s reinstated, the Packers’ options are to cut him, trade him, or welcome him to their active roster. The Packers don’t like any of those options, but Favre is apparently done negotiating.
