Brett Favre says the NFL has reinstated him and he is leaving Mississippi for Green Bay early this afternoon.

The Packers, however, told ESPN that it’s impossible for Favre to have been reinstated today because the league office is closed today, meaning official league business can’t be conducted. (Because we all know Sunday is no day for football.)

In any event, Favre is expected to arrive in Green Bay tonight, and presumably he’s doing that because he’s expected to end his retirement and show up at training camp practice tomorrow.
